They did it their way! Bethany and Neil had a no They did it their way! Bethany and Neil had a non traditional wedding last weekend in Edinburgh city and I have to say we loved this. With a later ceremony they did not want to be away from their guests afterwards so we did a first look in the morning and then a couples shoot around Edinburgh city before the ceremony. This gave us heaps of time to get the shots they wanted before the I do’s leaving them plenty of time to enjoy the day with their guests afterwards. It worked brilliantly and the plans all came together. Their evening reception was also a relaxed buffet style dinner service meaning there was plenty of food coming out for everyone to tuck into instead of waiting for a plated meal. We love that couples have the freedom to create a day works for them! Edinburgh was looking glorious and Bethany and Neil really made it look even prettier! What a wholesome day I had yesterday. Thank you to What a wholesome day I had yesterday. Thank you to all the breastfeeding mums who turned up for our annual shoot in front of the Helen Bur mural. 46 mums came to be represented and support one another. It makes me so proud to be part of something like this. It’s not just about the photographs it’s about the community and support and real experiences shared. With that being said I’m delighted to announce that there will be a public exhibition of my breastfeeding work. Partnered with @lll_collective we have received funding from The National Lottery through Creative Scotland supporting the Feed Free exhibition. We also have the wonderful Karen Adam and Jackie Dunbar sponsoring an MSP facing exhibition at Holyrood later this year. The public exhibition will be held at the Salt Space gallery in Glasgow on Friday 21st August until 23rd August. I’m still working on the creative process and curation but along with the images will be stories from participating mums on their breastfeeding journey and why representation matters to them. It’s not just about the photos, it’s an exhibition to share breastfeeding support and inspiration. Supported by LLL-Collective who have arranged speakers for the opening night including Alison Thewliss, the minister for community care and MSP for Glasgow central. I’m so excited! We’ve had some lovely coverage so far and I can’t wait to share more updates as things progress. These are some of the most important photographs I’ve ever taken. I have been photographing breastfeeding mums all over Scotland since 2020 and it’s amazing to see this work progress the way it has and hopefully make a difference. Thank you to every mum who has trusted me to photograph these authentic and honest breastfeeding moments. You’re all amazing! Thank you to @abcdefghelen for creating this beautiful mural in our city! We were in Pencaitland last weekend for an epic we We were in Pencaitland last weekend for an epic wedding at Harriet and Josh’s beautiful home. The marquee was decorated by the wonderful @penelopefleurflorist using plants locally grown right there in the property by Josh’s very own plant nursery @macplants The day was full of energy and love, the joy was evident and nothing beats seeng their grandparents busting some amazing moves on the dance floor! We also had the privilege of meeting and working with amazing suppliers that really helped bring the day together.
