Newborn photography Aberdeen, what to expect. Hello! My little studio is a garage conversation with plenty of space and most important thing to remember it the session is relaxed. I have been photographing babies for many years with experience and knowledge. I have trained with some of the best newborn photographers in the world and baby safety comes first in my studio so your precious little bundle will be in safe hands.
Your newborn session is focused on relaxed, natural and minimalistic posing. I will never force your baby into an uncomfortable position or dangerous prop. I do have some props for variety but the the posing is always simple and natural and my props are specifically made for the comfort of newborn babies. No garden buckets in my studio! Simple is key.
I always start by wrapping your baby in one of my white wraps and starting with the white minimalist images. If your baby is sleepy I will go ahead and get all those shots including the tiny details. I just love these images, they will never go out of fashion. They are timeless and really highlight the beauty and uniqueness of your baby with our trying to be fancy.
Nothing is taking away the focus of your baby with minimalistic photography. I love all the details of eyelashes, hands and feet. It is such a sweet keepsake to look back on.
If your baby needs a feed once you arrive then we do that first and I start with the family photos straight after feeding. This gives your baby a chance to fall into a deep sleep while still being cuddled. Family and sibling photos are usually done near to the start of the session. If you have other little ones with you this means that they can relax and watch a DVD or play outside with one parent whilst I finish the rest of the session.
I always try to capture some images of your older children just on their own as well. Pets are welcome too. I do a lot of different set ups with family and siblings, providing your other children are up for it. Nothing is forced, don’t worry if you have an uncooperative child, I have never failed to get at least one shot of them together. I have some secrets to make it work!
After the family and minimalistic photos are done I move on to some colour, props and texture for variety. We can discuss colours to your taste. I love to play around with different colours and textures whilst keeping things authentic.
I like to get a few deeper images that convert well to black and white as well as colour.
I also love awake photos and really make an effort to include a wide variety of images for you. Don’t worry if you think that you have missed the newborn stage. A lot of these babies are older than one month and you can get some great interaction with older babies too.
The session usually takes no more that 2-3 hours and all my lovely clients have been complementary as to how relaxed and easy the session is for them. A newborn session is often the first time you will leave your house with your new baby so it should be a lovely experience with images that will make you well up when you see them.
